Giving Back

At KAM Fitness and Nutrition we believe we have the power to help our communities as well as our clients. Access to healthy food, exercise education, and international health initiatives are at the core of our "giving back".

ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOOD

  • Groton Neighborhood Food Project

The project involves providing a steady source of food for families in need.

Local food pantries are always in need of food for their shelves and the GNFP has helped to create a stable and reliable flow of donations

Kerry has been involved with GNFP since 2014 with the emphasis on donating items that support healthy eating strategies.

  • Plank-a-thon

Plank-a-thon is KAM Fitness and Nutrition's annual fundraiser for local food pantries.

In 2012 Kerry created this fundraiser with her clients and community. Participants hold the plank position* for their desired length of time (for as long as they can) and gather sponsors. 100% of the money raised goes to local food pantries.

*A plank is a full-body exercise that when performed properly, can be very beneficial to improving core strength. It is very tough to sustain for long periods of time!

EXERCISE EDUCATION

KAM Fitness and Nutrition will create a scholarship fund to honor a beloved client, Mary G Horton. Mary inspired everyone by reclaiming her health through nutrition and exercise.

The scholarship will be awarded to a selected candidate entering into the exercise science or nutrition field.
